Welcome to Kirklees College Huddersfield Centre.

The College is pleased to try and meet the educational and training needs of all the communities we serve. The College conducts its business in English and, with some special exceptions, delivers all its teaching in English.

We are able to offer specialist courses in English or ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). These courses are suitable if you are settling in this country and wish to improve your written and spoken English. Whatever your previous experience, we can offer the right level of study - the courses range from Beginners to Advanced levels.

Some people use the courses to prepare themselves to move onto other courses of study. Students can work towards a qualification in English: from basic accreditation up to GCSE English. Some classes are for women only, some are mixed. Most groups meet every morning or afternoon, and most courses have free childcare facilities. On some courses there is the chance to learn basic computing skills too.

ESOL classes are organised by Kirklees College Huddersfield Centre's Community Outreach Services. Community Outreach provides a first step into education, training, work and careers for adult learners from all ethnic backgrounds. Some of our courses are designed to meet the particular needs of people settling in the UK, including refugees and asylum seekers. Most of our courses take place in community venues.
